16mm Silent

‘NG’ is a label I’ve found on Tony Pritchett’s archive footage. I later discovered that this is known within the filmmaking community as meaning ‘No Good’.
The image above was shot on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. A long lens and cold weather resulted in awful camera shake.
The footage was shot in 2015. I’ve since improved my lens stabilising skills.

Filming a Scottish island on 16mm is perhaps not the most original idea, but I have an excuse: My first happy childhood memories are associated with the place and following ‘dad’s slideshow’ of the visit. (I also shot some colour slide film, which to my relief came out nice and vivid.)
